DIY - Do it Yourself

Contributed by Maria Ruiz
The house that my husband and I bought is a fixer upper. We have lived in it for 3 years and we still aren’t done with it. My husband assured me when we bought it that he would get everything done with in the first year, but that obviously didn’t happen. I would love to just do everything myself, but I honestly don’t know where to begin. My friend, Jamie, fixed her house up by herself. She has a husband similar to mine. He claimed he would fix their house up too, but it was empty promises. She got fed up with it and ended up doing everything herself. She regrouted her bathroom and kitchen, she made actual counter tops for the kitchen and installed them, and she even did the molding in her house. I have obviously asked her how she learned to do everything and she told me she learned a lot from watching the DIY TV channel. I don’t have the channel, but I plan on visiting expertsatellite and upgrading our package to include the channel. Maybe I will be able to fix up some things like Jamie did.

Transferring Office Live Website Domain Name to new Hosting!

The Microsoft Office Live Website transition to Office 365 has really stressed out many people. Including myself who builds and develops websites full time. Don't worry, I am here to help!

One of my previous blog posts talked about transitioning an Office Live website to Office 365. What a pain in the butt it was, but I had moved my shopping website and domain name to office 365 by following the many steps they provided in the Office 365 transition guide.

Right when I heard the transition was mandatory, I told myself there is is no way I will be moving my Website Help site to Office 365. Therefore, I chose a new web hosting company. I certainly didn't want to have to re-create my website in Office 365, it was a pain and a long learning process when it was developed and designed in Microsoft Office Live back in 2009. Office 365 has the same website builder and features. There are some minor differences, but to me it is not worth paying for. So what I did to save and transfer my Office Live site to a new hosting account was: I saved all my website images to my computer, I copied and pasted all of my web pages to Notepad, saved and labeled the pages in notepad and I then chose "move domain name" in My Administrative panel at Microsoft Office Live. By choosing to move my custom domain name, it was released to the domain registrar company called Melbourne IT. I then created a "my account" at Melbourne It. Logged in and went to domain management, added my domain name there. Once my domain name was showing at Melbourne It, I requested my hosting company to do a website domain name transfer. If this is something you are also going to do with your Microsoft Office Live websites, be sure to confirm all emails that come to you. I missed an important email step which made my website domain transfer take much longer than it should. Don't be afraid to call melbourne IT or your new hosting company to make this website transfer easier. Also, if you need any help email me at owner@helpwithyourwebsite.com.

Sons Research Project

Posted by Virgil Burks
Now that my son is in fifth grade, it seems he has one research project after the next. First it was for Science, then he had one in Social Studies, and now he was one in Language Arts. Back when I was a kid, we got all our information from Encyclopedia’s and books, but now, it’s all out there on the internet. I went to satellite star internet.com to research dialup versus satellite, now that I see how much my son is going to be need the internet. I want to get him what he needs to be successful in school, because to me, nothing is more important than a good education and doing well in school. My son is a smart young man, and he works hard. He even talks about going to college, which is just amazing to me because he would be the first one in our family to do that. I am so proud of him, and I just want to do whatever I can to make it easier on him to accomplish his goals.

Transferring Office Live to Office 365- Update from previous post.

YES. I did it. I transitioned one out of my 3 Microsoft Office Live Websites to Office 365. Well I should say....I transferred my custom domain name to Office 365. My shopping Website needed Re-designed anyway so I didn't transfer all the content, just the domain name, some text and hopefully the email account and contacts are all transitioned. We will see. My website help site is not yet transitioned....I wanted to make sure I was able to transfer my other site to Office 365 first. For those of you who would like to know what Office 365 is like, well it is the same sitebuilder as office live website. Nothing much different other than we will have to pay more now. I would like to say that the Website transition was easy but nope...I was shaking my head through out the whole process. I am glad I had my shopping website to do the testing transfer. Well if anyone needs help transitioning your website to Office 365, you need to contact me REAL soon because it is a process and it is time consuming. The more content and pages you have, the longer it will take.

Microsoft Office Live Websites Transitions to Office 365

Attention all Microsoft Office Live Website users.
Microsoft Office Live websites are now being transitioned over to Office 365. Many of you are getting emails about the mandatory move. This has upset many website users who have their websites hosted at Microsoft Office Live (Melbourne). The reasoning is because Microsoft hosting was a free service and all we had to do is pay for our yearly custom domain name renewal. Now they are making this transition to office 365 and going to be charging each website user an additional $6 or more a MONTH for hosting their website. Plus, we will need to pay for the normal domain name renewal. At first, I didn't worry too much about it because I figured they would offer free transitioning so that beginner website owners didn't have to manually transfer all their files, images, contacts, email ect.. But no they say that every thing must be manually transferred by the Administrator or owner of the website. This is bad news for people like myself who have close to a hundred website pages and thousands of email contacts. A lot of website work is in store for myself and many others.

So instead of transferring all website content and email files over to Office 365 and paying a lot more a year for hosting, I am going to be transferring my Office Live Websites over to a more affordable hosting company. I will be using Siteground Hosting where it is only $9.95 a year (special I am offering) instead of $6 a month which equals an additional $72.00 a year plus domain name renewal. If any Microsoft Office Live Website owners want to follow me and transfer your website contents to a new hosting company and need help, I am going to be offering my transfer and website help services for a reasonable fee. Considering we will have to transfer our websites no matter what or lose them.
Please contact me here at this blog or comment below.

Website Improvement News!

First of all, I would like to tell everyone that it is nice to see everyone still following my Website Help blog. I have been very busy with trying to make money online, website development and of course social media optimization research.

This is my first post for the new year on this blog and I plan on trying to keep you guys updated more. As many of you may know, I have several websites and blogs of my own to maintain as well as websites for other people. Hopefully everyone will stick with me on my journey as a Freelance worker and Website Developer. I certainly appreciate the support.

The helpful website tips that I want to share with you today is that for all of you who own websites. You need to remember that search engine optimization is a big key factor in getting your website to rank well in the search engine page results. Another important thing to remember is that you must include social media marketing into your daily website improvements so that your website traffic will increase. I was contacted the other day by someone who asked "How do I get my website known to others?" The answer along with SEO is social sharing your websites. I know what some of you may be thinking. "I am so sick of hearing....follow us on Twitter" and join us on Facebook. It is all over the t.v. every commercial, news broadcast ect...As much as you are sick of hearing about those two top social sites, you need to include them in your website. Add a Twitter and Facebook button to your websites so that you can have others share and view your website.

Most search engine marketing experts will agree with me when I say Facebook is one of the most popular websites right now and it is extremely beneficial to your business website to either hire a search engine marketing firm or learn to market your website more on social sharing websites. Some major sites are Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Stumbleupon and Google Plus. You will be surprised by the Increase of Website traffic and Earnings you will have.

90210 Yes!

This guest post from Hong Alexander
I was flipping through the channels on DIRECT TV CHARLOTTE and landed on the SOAP Network. I started watching one of my old favorite shows and three hours later, I found myself still watching them! I absolutely loved the show “Beverly Hills: 90210” when I was a kid. It was so much fun. It was the perfect amount of teen age drama. Any and all problems got solved within the hour. I also had crushes on Dylan and Brandon. To guys with totally different styles, but I loved them! I have been looking for the DVDs for the shoe forever and have never been able to track them down. I was just so excited and couldn’t believe that the reruns were playing on the SOAP network! Now, I know exactly what I am going to be doing on rainy days off. I am going to be curled up on the couch and watching Donna, Kelly, Brenda, Brandon, and Dylan! I am going to have to call my sister and let her know about this, she is going to love it and want to upgrade her television package asap.

Making matching mommy and little mummy Halloween costumes

Guest post written by Gloria Roberts
I wasn't so sure if I wanted to partake in this, but when my daughter told me that the only way she would go trick or treating this year would be if I dressed up in a matching costume with her. At first I thought that she was joking, but she clearly wasn't. I didn't want my 6-year-old to miss out on something as fun as trick or treating so I agreed and started figuring out what she should dress up as.
I used our wireless internet to look up some ideas about what exactly I should make and I came up with the ideas to make us mummy costumes because it would also be funny to be a mommy mummy.
So far these costumes aren't too difficult, especially because I have a sewing machine. If I didn't have one of those, it might be considerably harder. I decided that sewing strips of white fabric (old bed sheets, actually) would be much easier if it's just on to leggings instead of pants. That way it's also cheaper too. I think this Halloween is definitely going to be a success.

Scouting out all of the Ghostbusters filming locations

Scouting out all of the Ghostbusters filming locations
Guest post written by Gloria Wilkins
I remember when the first Ghostbusters movie came out. I'm pretty sure that my husband and I went out to see it on a date. It was one of those rare times when our kids were young that we actually left them under the supervision of a babysitter so we could go for a romantic dinner and a movie together. Well, we both ended up loving it and it's still one of my favorite movies to this day. So one of the first things that I thought about when we started planning a fall trip to New York City is that we should go and see the firehouse from the movie!
I went online to find some more information and see if it still even exists. While I was reading through some blogs about it, I stumbled across the site http://hearingaids.miracle-ear.com/. After I looked through it a little bit, I decided to sign up for a hearing aid test. I'm going to take one next week and might get fitted with some hearing aids before our big trip.
We're going to be taking our own little Ghostbusters locations tour, which will include watching the movie in our hotel room one night to refresh our memories.

What makes a website a good Website?

What makes a good website?

Many of you have probably at one time wondered what makes a good website.

Below is a list of things that make this hearing aid website a good website.

1. Design- The design of a website must look good. If it is a business website, it must look clean and professional. A business website should have a calm web design and not look too flashy. Now if you are building a fun or gaming website, you can have flash and lots of color.

2. Navigation- The navigation of the website must be easy to use. You do not want broken links to your different pages on your website. You also don't want to have to search for the navigation or menu bar to all of the different pages. Do you see how on this hearing aids site it is at the top of the page and easy to navigate through? You want to place the navigational menu at the top or left side of the main home page of your website.

3. Contact Information- A good website displays the contact telephone number, contact page or email address.

4. Displays only related content- A good website will display only related information on the website. For example: A hearing aid website will not display Dog Food on their website. It should only show things that are related to the website topic.

5. Adds social interaction- A good website will add social tools to their websites so that it makes their visitors interact on the website. Adding Facebook and Twitter social buttons is a great way to get your website visitors to interact with your site and stay longer.

Ecommerce Website Help

Hi Website Help Blog Followers. I know it has been a long time since my last post. I did want to get back into the groove of blog posting so my topic for this post is e-commerce website help. I have built many websites in the past and one of the websites that I haven't built much of is an e-commerce website that has it's own shopping cart. I do have a shopping website, but my shopping website is an affiliate shopping website. It is not an e-commerce website that has it's own shopping cart features and payment processing procedures. This type of website of mine will come in the future.

The reason I haven't yet tackled this type of website is because of one, I haven't had any clients needing this type of website yet. I have made gaming websites, business websites and real estate websites. The second reason why I haven't made an e-commerce website for myself is because of the MUST HAVE shopping cart that comes with making a eCommerce website.

I do want to introduce to everyone who is interested in building a e-commerce website  some great tools that you will need to build a successful e-commerce website. There are many shopping websites and having a SEO Shopping Cart will allow your website visitors to stay on your shopping site and not go to a competitors site to buy what they want. That is the down fall for my shopping website, is that I don't yet have a checkout and shopping feature that will allow my site visitors to stay on my site. I earn by affiliate commissions and by advertiser clicks. When I get paid by my website help clients, I use my Pay Pal "buy now" buttons to receive payment. I highly suggest to all website owners that have services or products for sale to have a secure payment processor such as Pay Pal or Get your FREE SEO training manual.

If you have any website tips or ecommerce website help questions, please leave a comment below and I will try to answer your questions asap. I hope everyone is doing well on their websites. Looking forward to getting back in touch with all of my website help blog followers.

What is SEO Marketing?

Increase your website Page Rank by learning SEO and Search Engine Marketing!

I have recently been working on my Search Engine Marketing Certification through Web CEO. Why am I learning what SEO Marketing is? Learning how to optimize and market your website is a very important step in website development. I want to be able to increase my website page rank and help other website owners do the same. I have received wonderful and free SEM, SEO, and SMM training through Web CEO and I am writing this website help post to share my experience with you.

Although I believed I already knew everything there was about website development, I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing and also to eventually show proof of certification in SEO and SEM. The Search Engine Marketing trainings are not too long to complete in my spare time and I have already passed half of the quizes that are tested at the end of each course. The Search Engine Marketing courses teach website developers how to increase their website page rank in the search engines. There isn't just one thing that is needed to be done when you want to properly optimize your website. Therefore, learning how to apply good Search Engine Optimization to your website through SEM is a great reward in the end.

If you are a website owner who also would like to learn what SEO Marketing is and how it will help your website, you can also download the same helpful software that includes the free seo training courses!

How to add a search function to your website?

Website owners and followers, I have published a new article that will tell you how to put a search function on your website.

If you don't know html coding, then the website help article above will show you an easier way to allow your visitors to search from your website. Many website visitors search for the search box when they come to an interesting website. They automatically want to know what the website has to offer and the search function box is the best way for them to explore your site.

I have also recently placed google ads on my websites navigation area. On the left side of my websites, underneath the website pages, there should now show google ads. If you are an owner of a Microsoft Office Live website and need help placing ads beneath your navigational bar, you can contact me at my Help Website!

Creating Websites!

Creating websites is what I have been up to lately. To be able to provide the website help that is needed, I have to explore many different websites and website hosting companies. The best way to learn website development and web design is to get online and start making websites. The more experience a website developer and or designer may have, the more website help they can provide to their customers, friends and followers.

My niece and I was watching "America's got talent" the other night and she asked me "What is your talent?" I shrugged my shoulders and said "I don't know." I should of told her that my talent was helping others with website development. That would of sounded a little boring to her, so next time I will tell her my talent is my skill. My skill is website developing and helping others. Yes there are many others who can also provide website tips and help but I believe it does take talent to manage many websites, provide website help, write articles online, update many online blogs, be a homecare worker, answer hundreds of emails and also find time to spend with my family.

I wanted to share with you guys again my real money tips website. I had created this free google website a few months ago and decided to take a good look today at my help information I had included for people who are looking for ways to make money online. All the information that I included is true and I hope it may help all you website owners. Via my free Google website, I am unable to manage all of the Search Engine Meta tags and page descriptions like I can on my Microsoft Office Live Websites. So with that said, I was curious to see if my Google site would be indexed and ranked in the search engines. Today, I found it on Google search results when I searched "real money tips"! Yee Pee, I am excited about that. That shows that providing helpful information in a website will help your search engine page rank.

So far, I have tried out Microsoft Office Live websites, Google Sites, Webs.com websites, Weebly.com websites and I have helped customers with many other websites that are hosted on different servers. Now that I mentioned Weebly.com, you can sign up for a free website there and receive free hosting as long as you use a free website name that includes weebly.com.

For an example: My free weebly website is named: http://tammyfrost.weebly.com/index.html. It is a resource website for me to just mess around and get familiar with the website editor, website templates and page designer. I have also included some personal information that allows people to get to know me better. I made a couple new web pages on it today that will eventually help me organize my online work. My articles page, lists all the websites where I publish articles at. So with this website help blog, you will not only learn how to create a website, you will also learn how too make money online and how to make money with your articles.
